Mike Mellor – Managing Director
Mike’s been in the catering equipment industry since 1984. He was Managing Director of Midwest Catering Equipment whose business was purchased by PKL Holdings in 1996. Following the acquisition he became group sales director at PKL and was subsequently promoted to UK Managing Director. He led the buyout of the equipment and design division which lead to the creation of Space Catering Equipment in 2000.

Louise Chuter - Company Secretary
Louise has been with the company right from the start and is now a Director of Space. She has overall responsibility for the computer aided design, administration and accounts side of the business, ensuring these all-important functions run as smoothly as possible, and controls a team of 12 people at the Space head office.

Malcolm Ball – Sales Manager
Malcolm joined Midwest Catering in 1988, going on to manage the division after it was integrated into PKL Holdings in 1996. Since Space was formed in 2000, he’s expanded and developed the key account portfolio which now numbers Eat cafés, Four Pillars Hotels, Greene King Pub Partners and Esporta Health Clubs. Malcolm’s also secured many major projects including the Forbury Hotel in Reading, the Crab at Chieveley and Worcester and Weston training colleges.

Kenn Tagg – Account Manager
Kenn has 25 years experience in the catering industry and has moved from dedicated project management into a more general management role. As well as handling one of Space’s largest accounts, Greene King plc, he’s also responsible for controlling the ISO 9001 quality system, internal training and supplier negotiation on behalf of the company.

Mark Howard - Business Development Manager
Mark joined Space in June 2006 having previously managed Midwest Catering before moving onto the facilities management division of PKL. He’s focussed on many of Space’s core national accounts, helping them improve the efficiency of their commercial catering estate. Having worked with most of the country’s equipment manufacturers, he’s also got the experience and knowledge to help clients replace a single item through to complete turnkey solutions.

James Scott - Project Manager
Although James has been with Space since its inception in 2000, he’s been in the industry for 25 years, bringing exceptional experience to the company. He’s managed many of Space’s largest projects, like the £1.8 million rebuild of Center Parcs’ Elveden site as well as projects totalling £3 million elsewhere on their estate. He designed and project managed facilities at two of the UK's largest garden centres at Trentham in Staffordshire and Webbs of Wychbold.

David Griffin – Project Manager
David joined Space in 2002 as the company's growth meant an increased need for experienced project managers.
With seventeen years industry experience before joining the team, David was the ideal candidate. Since joining he’s secured and managed a huge amount of new business including the Met Office HQ in Exeter and the Chelsea Building Society's new headquarters in Cheltenham.

Steve Fear - Project Manager
Steve joined Space in 2003 from Lockharts where he was a highly experienced project manager. Steve's specialism in large project work particularly with major contractors has been vital in securing and managing contracts for Dobbie's Garden Centres and Zurich Financial Services among others.

Julian Hale - Project Manager
Julian rejoined Space after a period managing one of our specialist fabrication suppliers. Julian has a wealth of experience in technical project management and advises on all issues where specialist fabrication and bespoke manufacture are required. Julian also manages the development projects for Greene King Pub Partners and has full Autocad skills too.

Simon Webster – Project Manager
Simon is an expert on utilities, having trained as a gas engineer at grass roots level and worked his way up. He spent 15 years with the PKL group where he provided the infrastructure and equipment needed to fuel major events like Wimbledon, Glastonbury and the Grand Prix. Now he supports Greene King with project management expertise and specialist help on the utilities front.
